Eligibility for Registration of a Room at SCH
- The eligibility conditions for allotment of accommodation in SCH are as given below: –
(a) One should be an Air Veteran drawing Air Force Pension and; above 60 years of age and; should be an AFA member. Upon allotment of a unit, his/her spouse would be eligible to stay in SCH along with him/her. The spouse would be permitted to continue to stay even on the demise of the Veteran, if he/she so desires.
(b) Widow of an Air Veteran in receipt of Air Force Family Pension, above the age of 55 years and an AFA member. In such case, the Air Veteran would have fulfilled the basic condition of being above 60 years.
- The eligibility for accommodation in SCH as given in para (a) & (b) above shall not extend to their children.
Note: Production of a Medical Certificate showing freedom from infectious or contagious disease and mental or psychological disorders, and self-certification for no legal case pending would be required, prior to allotment.
Occupancy at AFA SCH
- The details of number of rooms, their occupancy status and other related details are given in the succeeding paragraphs:
(a) Officers.
(i) In ‘A’ Wing, 37 rooms are presently occupied and one room is earmarked as VIP transit accommodation.
(ii) Due to long waiting list, complete 2nd Floor of ‘B’ Wing (10 rooms) was transferred to Officers’ Pool in 2009. All these rooms have been allotted to the officers / spouses.
(b) PBORs.
(i) In ‘B’ Wing, out of 27 rooms, 22are presently occupied.
(ii) Five rooms are being utilized for providing transit accommodation on payment for the Serving/ Retired officers/ ORs and their families and children / relatives of the residents.
- List of the allottees is attached at Appendix.
- As on date, 28 couples, 14 widows and 24widowers,two single veterans are residents of SCH. Of these, there area few residents (all four categories) who have not been staying at SCH, though they have occupied the rooms and have been paying all their dues in time.
Security /Catering/ House Keeping Services
- The SCH has outsourced the messing, security and housekeeping services of the complex to different agencies who provide the manpower and other services on annual contract basis. The daily messing charges are Rs. 280/- for the whole day meals. These are revised annually to keep up withtheincrease in cost of living.
Support from Air Force Station, Tughlakabad
- The support provided by Air Force Station Tughlakabad is as follows:
(a) The SMO & staff of SMC are generous in helping and attending to any emergency cases at odd hours.
(b) Provision of Ambulance to transfer patients to RR/ Base Hospital/ Empaneled Hospitals (only in case of emergencies).
(c) Provision of water bowsers in case of low water supply.
(d) The residents feel very much delighted to go for morning and evening walks in Vayusenabad (the residential complex of 7 BRD) through a rear security gate.
(d) Utilisation of other facilities like CSD, AFFWA shop, restaurants, shopping complex, swimming pool, sports, Gym etc.
Sources of Income
- The following are the sources of income of the SCH:
(a) Monthly Maintenance Charges per Room. Rs. 4300/- pm (Officers) and Rs.3350/- pm (PBORs).
(b) Establishment Charges. Rs. 15/- per day per head.
(c) Income from Transit Facilities.
(d) Entertainment Charges @ Rs 30/- per head per month.
(e) Interest earned from investments of Rs. 2.10 Cr with IAFBA.
- Grants. The SCH has been getting some grants / donations from Air HQ, AFA, Commands and some of the units of IAF.
- Major Achievements during Last Three years. Some of the major works undertaken in the last three years are appended below:
(a) Renovation of kitchen.
(b) Terrace on second floor.
(c) Solar power system.
(d) Air-conditioning of dining halls and reading rooms.
(f) Physiotherapy services through a qualified Physiotherapist.
(g) Construction of rear gate.
(h) Rest Room for messing staff.
(i) Upgradation of Front Lawn.
