| History of Air force association Chandiagarh branch AFA (NZ) is one of the first branches that was established in 1981 and comprised of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana and Jamnu & Kashmir. Over a period, the last two were established as independent branches. The first President of this branch was Late Air Mshl Shivdev Singh, followed by Air Vice Mashl GS Punia, Wg Cdr SN Sharma (1907-1994). Finally, Air Mshl RS Bedi, AVSM VM took over in 1994. Initially, the branch had no specific place of operation. However, on taking over, Air Mshl RS Bedi was able to move to a permanent location at 12 Wing, AF Education Section. The Branch synchronizes its working with 12 Wg, AF and full admin support is provided by the Station authorities. |
